Spectating
Q: I'm wondering what I should expect.
A: Headwaters is a one day rally, without
pomp and circumstance. It tends to be very laid back and
enjoyable. Please volunteer!
Q: Are spectators allowed along the stages?
A: Yes. If you are able, you might
consider volunteering. It would help us out immensely.
Tell the worker coordinator if you have experience or not,
and let them know if you would like to work the entire rally
or just part of it. Please volunteer!
Q: How easy is access within a stage? Between stages?
A: Well, that's a sticky wicket. Headwaters
is not a ProRally, so we don't make the same allowances for
spectators. We can't publish the routes ahead of time so
we can't say where we will be running. You can pretty much
count on "the crossroads" being used, but I can't say much
more than that.
We give our workers the best maps and
directions. Stage captains lead our workers into the woods,
and sweep will lead the way back. If you are not working,
you can ask at the worker registration desk and they will
very likely give you a map and some basic directions.
Please volunteer!
Q: I'd hate to come up there with my full camera
rig and find out that I get a chance to photograph the drivers
on one turn on one stage and never get the chance to catch up
again.
A: Tag along with someone who is going
out to the woods and you can usually catch two stages and
maybe a service in between. Please
volunteer!
Q: Are you still looking for volunteers to help
out with tech or course setup/teardown?
A: Yes! Please volunteer!
Q: Is there a spectator map available?
A: Yes and it can be downloaded here.
