Rules and Regulations

The Land O'Lakes Region Solo II Championship is to provide incentive for LOL soloists to compete in LOL sponsored Solos. All LOL sponsored Solo II events will be conducted in accordance with the SCCA National Solo 2000 Rules Book. Events shall be run according to the mandatory provisions in the Solo Rules, 1.1.  In addition, LOL Championship events will require mandatory adherence to sections 2.7, 3.5, 7.3, 7.4, 7.5.  Karts will be classified per the 2000 WKA Rule Book.  The rules included here apply to the LOL Region Solo II Championship points system.

Purpose:
To recognize achievements of drivers competing in LOL events. To promote and encourage participation in LOL events by SCCA members.

Governing Body:
The Governing Body is the LOL Competition Board. The Comp. Board shall record points and distribute awards. The decisions of the Comp. Board shall not affect any other Regional Programs.

Entrant Eligibility:
All SCCA members are eligible to participate in the Championship. Entrants in LOL sponsored Solos who are not members may participate in the Championship by becoming a member of SCCA before the final LOL Region Solo II event of the season. In order to be eligible for a year end award, an entrant must compete in 60% of the LOL Region Solo II Championship events in class. The entrants 7 best finishes will be counted.

Event Eligibility:
All LOL sponsored Solo II events will be included in the series. Events must be calendared by May 1, 2000 to be included in the Championship series. A partial list of events is posted on this website.

Points System:

1. Points are determined by finishing order within class for each event. If a competitor(s) is bumped to a different class for event trophies/awards, that competitor will earn LOL Region Championship points based on the finishing place within the actual class, not the grouping created for event trophies/awards.

2. Points are awarded according to the table below.

Protests and Appeals:

1. The ONLY protests that the Comp. Board will hear shall be those dealing with the eligibility of an entrant, or inclusion of an event in the Championship.

2. Protests of eligibility must be made to the Chairman of the Comp. Board in writing. Such protests must be postmarked by October 15, 2000.

3. Protests can be made only by a participant eligible for the Championship.

4. The Comp. Board shall not have the authority to modify, change, or in any way alter the OFFICIAL results of an events.

Awards:

• Awards will be given all competitors who meet the eligibility requirements listed above down to third place.

• Award distribution will be made at the annual LOL Awards Banquet.

Conflicts:
In the event that a situation should arise not contemplated by the published rules, the Comp. Board shall be the final arbiter. The Comp. Board will use the appropriate rule book as a general guide in making decisions affecting the Championship.
