Well, another year and you have the opportunity to read my bad spelling and use of bad grammar. (Ed. note: We try to correct most of it!) At least this year will be a lot easier. With only 112 members voting this year, that will keep the number of complaints down.

I would like to thank the outgoing board member Norm Johnson for his two years of service and thank Mark "Crash" LaBarre for running again to help bring even more continuity to the board. I also would like to welcome John Daniels, Randy Van de Loo and Rob Woolston to the table, only if they do not demand a recount.

In the month of November I attended the Central Division Roundtable in South Bend Indiana. This was my second year of attending that event, 

 

  and as last year, it was informational and helped me realize that LOL is not the only region in SCCA that has a lack of volunteers; that was a common complaint that I had heard from many people who attended the Roundtable. I did get several chances to talk to SCCA's new CEO Steve Johnson, and so far I have liked what he has said. In the few short months that he has been CEO I have talked to him more than I had spoken or even had a chance to speak to the previous President; from what I see now Denver is moving in the right direction.

The 2001 season at this point does not look anything like what we have had in the recent past, but I think the changes and the "loss" of traditional dates at the track made me realize something - the track needs to make money or the track will not exist for very long. For the last several years, all we have been to the track is a $3000 per day track rental. We have no bargaining power with the track or no "real worth" (these are my words - not the track's). This year we are trying to change that, by not be

ELECTION RESULTS

Per the bylaws as revised September 15, 2000, pertaining to the transition to a nine member BOD with three year terms of office:
Greg Youngdahl, John Daniels, and Rob Woolston, having the most votes, were elected to three year terms. 
Randy Van de Loo and Mark LaBarre, having the next highest vote totals, were elected to two year terms.

MEMBERSHIP MEETING NOTICE
There will not be a December Membership Meeting. The Awards Banquet will be Friday, January 19th at the Holiday Inn St. Paul North
The February General Membership Meeting will be held at 7:30pm February 16th at the Tri-City American Legion, 400 Old Hwy 8, New Brighton, MN.
