REport, continued from page 1
available volunteers too far? Is that the root of our problems in finding new, willing and available volunteers? It has been suggested that maybe we are doing just that. It has also been suggested and assumed by some that maybe as a region we are just trying to do too much. In other words, something has to give. This region has a long and rich history of Club Racing, and as much as I hate to pass this along, it has been suggested that the club should look closely to see if we can continue to be a "racing region". Unless we get some new help this season and have the opportunity to train new people in for club racing activities, I do not see LOL having the personnel to be able to continue to bring road racing to its members.
Please don’t get me wrong; there are many things your club does right. Now that I have had a chance to be involved in other aspects of the club, I know that there is still enthusiasm in LOL and SCCA. With my personal history and my main interest in road racing, I would sure hate to see this region lose its ability to continue with your road racing program.
One last note, if you are a regular reader of the RE report and are tired of reading that the club needs help, just think on how tired the people that continue to devote their time to the club are.
Your feedback would be welcomed, whether it be by e-mail, a letter to The Tonneau or attending one of the board meetings.
Deadline for the July
Tonneau is June 12th.
Please submit your material at the LOL Board Meeting that night or send it to Lois Bjelke.

Eligible Vehicles: All American Made Full Sized Trucks made by Chevy, Ford, Dodge, GMC or Jeep. No "Furrin" models need apply.
Engines: All IT trucks shall be powered by V-8 engines of at least five [5] litres displacement. That’s a 302 or bigger for normal folks. The camshaft shall be located deep within the block, where it damned well belongs. All ITG trucks shall be powered by a single four barrel carburetor of no less than 650 CFM. Fuel injection is for weenies. Internal engine modifications are free provided the engine runs on pump gas of no higher than 93 octane. As an alternate fuel, corn whiskey may be used, but only if has been aged at least two days.
Tires and suspension: All vehicles shall use mud spec tire of between 32" and 44" outside diameter. Lift kits shall be installed. Sway bars are unnecessary as trucks are supposed to lean. However, all vehicles must be low enough to pass under the Nelsons Ledges crossing bridge with all four tires on the ground.
Tow provisions: All ITG trucks shall carry their own winches, therefore rope tows should be unnecessary.
Gun Racks: Rifle Racks are optional, but provide needed style points. Firearms shall be carried unloaded at all times inside the paddock or hot areas of the track.
Beds: Truck beds may be either fleetside or stepside, but the truck
should have a large enough bed area to hold at least four coolers. All competitors shall carry enough beer to provide cold ones to all corner workers and start during the cool down lap. Acceptable brews include Bud, Bud Light, Miller, Miller Light, Michelob and Michelob light or Pabst Blue Ribbon. Microbrews, foreign sounding beers or any other beer with actual flavor is prohibited. Any competitor who runs out of beer will be penalized one [1] lap and put on probation for two races. Whiskey burning trucks may provide worker drinks from their fuel tanks, provided such tanks are made from aged oaken barrels, used Budweiser kegs, or other approved containers. Racers must provide clean shot glasses for the workers, and can expect a stern talking to if anyone goes blind from their product.
Seats: The stock front seats shall be preserved, with appropriate racing harnesses.
Dogs: Dogs of any breed may ride along during the race. However, the dog shall wear racing goggles while on track and may not leave presents on the line.
Markings: All ITG competitors shall bear the SCCA club racing decal on the hood and both sides of the car as specified in the GCR. In addition, all trucks shall carry the number and decal of their favorite NASCAR driver, with the exception of that pansy, Jeff Gordon.
