by Dick Dickinson The LOL 2001 Championship Series is begining to come together. As I write, the SD contingent is meeting to firm up their dates and venues. La Crosse has upped for 5/20, 8/5, & 9/16. Basso Presto has Fairmont for 6/2&3. I do need Event Masters and Safety Stewards to put on a Twin Cities event(s). Through Met Council we have developed alternatives to DCTC which still have open dates, plus I have a site for a 50 car event in September. Anyone wishing to volunteer give me a call.(651.688.7627) For this year, to help increse participation, I would like all Event Masters to forward their sanction forms to me ASAP. I will take them all to the RE for signature, then send the package to SCCA, and try to get them listed in Sports Car as the LOL Championship Series. I know when I was starting out this is where I looked for information. Also, each event needs to be advertised in the Tonneau. The month prior to the event the Event Master should forward an advertisement. If you forward the advertisement with the Sanction form, I will get them in. Again, this is to increase awareness and participation. It helps to have named events such as the OCTOBERFEST in La Crosse. The name, tradition and special trophies lead to better participation. As I finish this, it is the 7th of February and we are having a "Snow Event". Isn’t that special. I can hardly wait for the asphalt and sea of cones.
