Two days after the deadline of the October TONNEAU, with my CBIR article already submitted, I was half watching "Good Morning America" when they suddenly cut to live local ABC coverage showing a smoking hole in the north World Trade Center tower. Reporters there stated a "twin engine airplane" had hit the building. One look at the NYC weather (beautiful clear skies) indicated it couldn’t be an accident. Then a second fireball erupted and replays showed another jet (I first thought a kamikaze Boeing "Bizjet" 737) slamming into the south tower. It was instantly clear some insane attack was in progress. My afternoon flight was cancelled an hour later and I spent the balance of the day surfing the channels in shock.
