Volume 101, Number 11
November 2001
Greg Youngdahl
Regional Executive
It was good to see that we had a full slate of board candidates in what promises to be a busy year for LOL. We are currently still working on working with CBIR for events at our home track in 2002. To diversify the club a bit, we are also looking at expanding our presence at Blackhawk Farms. In addition to planning to be involved with the Quad Region drivers’ school again in the spring we are looking at a fall race at Blackhawk to replace our traditional national that we have held for many years at CBIR. We are getting help from the regions that regularly hold events at Blackhawk. This is one way to keep LOL as a racing region. This is not our way of saying that we have given up on CBIR, but with the way the Club racing schedule is set, we need to make some commitments now. With the track concerns, LOL cannot
commit our whole racing program to our local track until the issues with SCCA have been taken care of.
In the past Club Racing has been the "provider" of working funds for LOL, and thanks to Solo II, Rally, and RallyCross all having successful seasons in 2001, LOL is still in good financial shape. A BIG THANKS goes to all the people that have helped LOL build its other programs so that we are still here and able to survive large setbacks as we did in 2001. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.With a new year fast approaching, it is never too late to start thinking about next year. If you are interested in any of the areas of the club and wish to see them make the difference, please volunteer to help so their continued success will be assured. Your help will be appreciated.
