Hi all,

Well, our road race and PRO Rally seasons are over. We had a great Ojibwe Forest Pro Rally. Unfortunately for me and many other LOLers, it was a tough rally. There were many DNFs and it has been said that one of the reasons for this is the roads were so good that a large number of the competitors were going too fast for their equipment. I say there is no such thing as too fast, but then again I broke my car!

At the Jack Pine Sprints, we had one of the best racing weather weekends I can remember. Other than Saturday being a little warm, it was beautiful Minnesota weather. Both the racers and the workers took full advantage of the conditions and had a great weekend. If I am not mistaken, I think we even went the entire weekend without a mayday.I specifically want to thank the race chairs for the Jack Pine Sprints and for that matter, all the races. We had trouble getting volunteers for this program but thankfully, we ended up getting some great people to put on the races for our 1997 season.

I know you will be getting this after our meet the candidates night so I will just encourage you to vote at the October general membership meeting. If you are unable to attend, please mail your ballots. Make your voice be heard for our 1998 Board of Directors.
