Volume 100, Number 9
August 2000
Who knew that the hardest part of being RE would be writing the RE report every month? with that being said, I think the board would really like some feedback on planning next year's events. We had asked for feedback last year but had gotten very little before things were set in motion. After the fact, there was a fair amount of feedback about the lack of a driver’s school (we are working to change that for the 2001 race season). In my opinion, it would help the current board and future boards if you got

But the hardest part of getting involved is following through and offering thought out solutions, and not just pointing out what the board is doing wrong or what problems the club has. I know there are problems but we need your suggestions on how to fix the problems. I would like to thank Jimmy Griggs for the vision and the follow-through for the work he is putting into the High Performance Car Clinic (HPCC). He attended an event at Topeka this spring and talked to people involved in putting it on and heard what kind of positive impact it has had on getting new people involved. Shortly after that event (I think it was about 2 hrs after he got back), I spent some time on the phone with Jimmy and I agreed that it was something that we the club needed to do some homework on. In the next few weeks Jimmy had contacted people in the Kansas City Region to get more information. He also has done all the homework necessary with Denver and now has all his ducks in a row, plus he volunteered to put on that part of the event that will be held in conjunction with the Fall 2000 Challenge Double Regional September 23-24.
I would also Thank Deb Dahl for jumping in with both feet after being recruited as the race chair for our third racing event of the year. In addition to being race chair she is also working hard in promoting LOL events. I am sure that she could use some help from other areas of the
club with their suggestions and support in promoting Solo II, Rally and Rally Cross. Deb has put in a fair amount of time setting up and getting posters done for the Labor Day Spectator National. Dave Kennedy also deserves a big thanks for securing Sears Imports as a Sponsor for this event. There are also many other people that have been in the club who continue to try new things and try to find ways to improve the viability of the club. For that they also deserve a big THANK YOU!!!!
