What rally workers do we need?
Sweep: Ideal for truck owners. Go
out on the stages and tow in disabled cars.
Course Marshal: Sit in the woods
guarding an intersection on the rally course. Have the best seat in the house.
Watch the rally cars go by at speed inches from where you are standing. No
Experience needed.
Medical and Emergency Services: Are
you an EMT, nurse, doctor, or firefighter? Handle everything from crew members
with scraped knuckles to driver extraction and car fires.
Timing: Be the first to know who is the winner!
Control Workers: Close off the
stages to all except the competing drivers.
Registration: Here's your chance to
meet drivers, their crew members, and the rest of the rally crowd. Many
Registration people are crew members or work in other specialties too.
Tech Inspection: Are the cars safe
and legal according to the rules? Do the drivers have the proper safety gear?
Mechanical experience is helpful, but not essential.
Ham Radio Operators: These people
are responsible for providing communication between the rally stages and
control.
Rally Chair: These are the folks who
organize the event and make sure it runs smoothly. They do everything from
budget planning to phoning rally results to the press.
